Chris Dumler is a key member of the Entertainment team at Chill (chill.com), a platform for premium entertainment as direct-to-consumer VOD. Chill is backed by investors including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Atlas Venture.He is focussed on meeting top filmmakers and discovering the best narrative, documentary, animation, long and short-form content out there. Chris helps independent filmmakers get one step closer to being truly independent by helping them understand the tools and strategies available to them; from Kickstarter and crowd-funded financing to online distribution and marketing.Some of Chill's recent original productions include critically acclaimed Maria Bamford's "The Special Special Special" which was named to New York Magazine's Top 10 Standup Comedy Specials of 2012, Ari Shaffir's "Passive Agressive" and Doug Benson's "The Greatest Movie Ever Rolled."

Accelerating Startup Ecosystems With the help of a grant from the Kauffman Foundation, we launched the Startup Foundation to support our hypothesis for how entrepreneurs go from the "I have an idea!" phase along the path to "high growth" company. Upon launching in Los Angeles, I discovered and analyzed the elements that contribute to existing startup communities. I connected people (ecosystem stakeholders) to each other, I created new programs to support the community and helped magnify the best programs that already existed. While the Startup Foundation has been resigned as an official organization and the findings now wrapped into the parent, Startup Weekend, I continue to serve as a guide and resource to help new and existing entrepreneurs navigate this ecosystem more efficiently.
